The Mofid Centre for Islamic Studies has been established to study and interpret Islam in such a way as to help bridge the gap between Muslims and non-Muslims in North America. It has the following specific goals: To advance education by introducing Islam to the general Canadian population as a religion of peace and tolerance; * To advance education by providing well researched and scholarly interpretations of the Koran and Sunnah (Islamic Tradition) which help Muslims living in North America to make connections with western, non-Muslim society and to live comfortably in that culture;
